Canada’s Luckiest Newcomer is open to adult newcomers to Canada.
You must be a legal resident of Canada on or before October 31, 2026, and an adult where you live. The official rules give the exact age. Employees, officers, directors and agents of 55 Rush, Canadian Newcomers Network, CIBC or any contest partner can’t enter, and neither can anyone who lives with one.
Who counts as a newcomer?
You count as a newcomer based on your visa or residence history: a student, work, permanent residence, business immigrant or Express Entry visa, or becoming a legal resident of Canada for the first time. The official rules give the exact dates.

What does signing up ask for?
Signing up asks for your email and a password, then your name, birth date, gender, postal code and phone number, and a few questions about your move and your family, like your country of origin and when you arrived in Canada.
Entering means agreeing to emails from Canadian Newcomers Network. You can unsubscribe any time without affecting your entry or your odds. Some prizes may ask you to let Canadian Newcomers Network share your details with that prize’s sponsor for email marketing; you can unsubscribe from those too.
How do I get more entries?
You get one entry for the grand prize and ten for each other prize you enter, and you can earn up to 2,300 extra entries by entering codes, completing challenges, referring friends and other actions posted on the contest site.
You can double your entries once: with an eligible new CIBC account or card, or by mailing a short essay.
How is the winner picked?
One entry is drawn for the grand prize, and its owner wins every Canada’s Luckiest Newcomer prize they entered. If that person didn’t enter a prize, that prize is drawn separately from the people who did.
The selected winner must correctly answer a math skill-testing question and sign a release before the prize is claimed. Your odds depend on how many entries you have compared with the total number of eligible entries.
